The York Hotel occupies two, renovated Victorian townhouses with white stucco façades. The main entrance features an attractive pediment supported by columns. Though not large, the lobby is full of natural light, thanks to large windows, and is attractively appointed with wood panelled walls, a marble floor and a marble reception desk. A modern lift offers access to four floors of accommodation. The 40 guestrooms are bright and airy, with large windows overlooking a nice view and simple lines creating a sense of understated style. They have been designed with comfort and practicability in mind. Whether triple, double or single, all have en suite bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there is a modern breakfast room on the lower ground floor, open from 7.30am till 9.30am daily.
